“Whoever lives will see”- Yousuf Al Tashfeen

The forces of King Alfonso were very well prepared to attack the Muslims of Spain, meanwhile the Ameer ul Muminoon known back then “Mutamid bin Mutazid” tied bonds with the barbarian Sultan Yousuf. Although the empire of Spain was very not cozy with the barbarians and even had fought innumerable times in order to wipe them away but the Ameer preferred the help of a fellow Muslim for the greater benefit of the Muslim nation.

The great army of Alfonso was vanquished at the hands of the Muslim union despite being heavily outnumbered in the battle of Zalaqa (480 A.H). In the meantime, king Alfonso exchanged letters to Sultan Yousuf in order to taunt him by telling about the numbers and arms they had. History marks the only reply from the Sultan “Whoever lives will see“, and this left the king with immense fear as the might of the Muslims was known to him. An army of twenty thousand destroyed the kings sixty-thousand while the king managed to escape with only a hundred soldier. History mark Muslims as the greatest warriors, conquerors and the nation having the true heroic instincts.

Emancipating lands from the Christians without disrupting the peace. Never was an old man, a woman or a child killed. No church or temple was ever destroyed, hence everyone was given the right to follow their religion strictly. Until the Muslims were subjected to the greed of throne, tainting the evergreen legacy by disuniting.

Greed is Curse:

Following their whims to gain pride and therefore, forgetting the brotherhood defined by Islam. The disunity resulting in civil wars allowed the low hearted Christian kings to enter and destroy the tranquil. The hunger of throne attracted the Muslims to join forces with their ever known enemies. In the contrary to the Muslim way, the Christians destroyed the Mosques. Women were raped, old men and children killed.

History marks one of the most brutal in the contrary to the Muslim way, the Christians destroyed the Mosques. Women were raped, old men and children killed. History marks one of the most brutal encounters that happened back then in Spain. The beneficence of the Muslims was forgotten. The spirits and the unity had taken the Muslims so far.

The belief in Allah was the only hope of the Muslims back then. The fading spirits and beliefs resulted in the nation being vanquished. There was a time when the words of a Muslim triggered fear in the mighty kings. Alas, the lost spirits destroyed the forces of Allah.

Conclusion:

The same is happening with the Muslims of today’s world, having self-made dispersed identities. They have forgotten the bond of brotherhood tied by Allah among the believers. The fights between the sects have caused the Muslims of the present age to fall. We need to recall the verse of the Holy Quran
“And hold fast to the rope of Allah, all together, and do not become divided” 3-103″
Allah bless us all Ameen.
